Had a great time at the KC Regional Quilt Fest!!

Had a great time at the Inaugural KC Regional Quilt Fest this past weekend! I took some awesome classes-with Angela Walters, Jamie Wallen, Kim Brunner, Sue Heinz, and even though I didn't get into his class, Dusty Farrell came earlier in the week to our long arm guild for a workshop. It was like the trifecta of long arm teachers!

The traveling displays--the Beatles quilts, Best of QuiltCon, and KC Star Blocks was a delight. And the judged quilts were so awe inspiring! Where do people get such creative ideas??!! And our 15 sponsoring Guild displays made me wonder why some of them didn't enter the judged portion. Over 700 quilts! Over 90 vendors (yes, I spent way too much despite trying to stick to my shopping list). And lots of demos.

There were quilters from as far as both Coasts, Texas to Maine. Just so much fun! So plan on being here in 2017 when the next one is planned.

I only wish they would make this an annual event. I know a few people that were totally worn out afterwards, but all agreed that it was terrific. I hope to be there in 2017, too.
