Default Half Square triangles - no ruler method?

Most of us know of the method to make HST's by layering squares of 2 colors, marking on the diagonal and sewing 1/4 inch from the line to the "right" and the "left for 2 HSTs.

I'm wanting to know if there is a similar method for making Half Square Triangles. Thanks for any help!!

I am not sure what you are asking. Do you mean Quarter Square Triangles? Yes just lay two Half Square Triangles on top of each other, draw a line diagonally, sew 1/4 inch to each side of the line and then cut on the line. Let me see if I can find a link.

This one is different but this works too.http://www.mccallsquilting.com/mccal...uare_Triangles

This is more like I do it-

I hope one of these links works for you. If not maybe you could try and reword your question?

Yes, and immediately found out the "does not work" method!! Thanks Easy! Finally figured it out with plenty of trimming room!

I use Deb Tucker's Split Rec ruler to make these perfectly sized.

Quarter square triangles are easy if you take two squares, good side to good side, and sew around the 4 outer edges. Then carefully cut an "X" through the square. You now have 4 quarter square triangles. Cutting the "X" carefully is the hard part.
