My closest Hancocks closed, now I have to go about 15-20 miles to another one. In my opinion, Hancocks is a much better fabric store than Joann's is, but I love my Joanns too. Hancocks seems to have more equipment, specialized notions (special sewing machine feet), etc. than Joann's does.

That doesn't make sense when our Hancock Fabrics ends up putting most of their crafts on clearance because they don't sell.

Hate to be a spoiler, but when our Hancocks remodeled, the prices jumped up. They used to have a section toward the back with inexpensive cottons. Now those same fabrics have moved to the front with a much higher price tag.

Our Hancocks here is in process of that now. Their Memoriable Day sale I walked out with 2 spools of thread. Their prices were too high compared to Joanns. I seem to find more quality fabric marked way down at Joanns these days. Who knows whats going on!

In my area they are in the process of remodeling. They have marked a lot of fabrics down a $1 a yard. Probably will go up $2 a yard when they actually remodel and will probably get narrower too....

Ours is in the middle of the remodel. Frustration is high! Seems like there is less room for fabric and that the cutting tables have been downsized. Aisles are more narrow in the fabric sections making it harder to see all your choices. Not a fan!... at least right now. Maybe once it is done, it will be better. Hope so.

I like Hancocks the way they are. The prices are decent, why does everyone always feel the need to change things that are not broken?

Our Hancocks is moving in a week or so. They told me they will have a lot more room, will have more arts and crafts and will have classes, I am looking forward to that.

I have not seen any remodeling at our Hancock's, but our Joann's is moving to a new place which is bigger. I wish it would hurry up and get moved, the old store has nothing left.

well, they won't...in fact you are probably seeing FEWER employees...the company is still in the toilet, they fired one CEO and tried bringing in another, but things have not gone well....

they have totally lost sight of what Hancock FABRICS should be!
