    I have never used silk thread...I use Airiful (sp) 60 wt and have it in every color. It disappears right into the background and stitches don't show...I have some 60 wt metlers also which is very good. check out www.pieceocake.com for the little bobbins full of applique thread...better way to go

    Thank you Ladies. You have given me much to think about. Especially for that yellow block, yellow is not a color I use often and I just could not see spending that much on one spool that I will probably never use again.. Neutrals it will be and an excuse to go to the quilt shop!!
    Better to do something imperfectly, than nothing perfectly.
    Done is better than perfect.

    I was completely surprised to find silk thread at JoAnn's. Now they didn't have an excessive amount of colors but they actually had silk thread and with my coupons I got one, of the three I bought, for free!!
