    ...learned how to "travel" like that a long time ago from a dear neighbor...it is a neat trick. I liked that thimble too!

    That is super cute! I think I'd just continue with the outlining around the appliques, and agree about adding a few quiltings inside some of the larger appliques.

    I like what you have done around the bird in the cart. This would be nice on all of the background.

    The technique of travelling the needle is called "walking the needle" in my neck of the woods and was taught to me by my first teacher, Darra Duffy Williamson (who is a friend of Alex Anderson's). It is a neat thing to know how to do. Check and see if U tube offers a video.
