Hand-Quilting Thread (which to buy?)
#11
Another YLI GLAZED COTTON hand quilting thread. I used the Gutterman glazed cotton thread once because YLI didn't have the color i wanted. It was OK.
I didn't like the King Tut thread because it's not a glazed cotton. And it was expensive!!!! I'll never use it again because it knotted so easily.
YLI is $5 for a 400 yd or so spool.

I'll use just about any thread that is labeled as 'hand quilting' for that purpose as long as it's in the color I want. Sometimes I want the thread to blend...sometimes not, so whatever color I'm looking for is what brand thread I end up with. I have used all of the readily available in-store brands...Gutterman, Coats & Clark, even JoAnns brand - Americana. Also a very big believer in Thread Heaven. Makes any of these threads tangle much less.
Also use Roxanne needles - usually size 10 or 11. Don't have issues with getting any of them through the eye of the #10 but sometimes with the 11's.

No matter what thread I buy, I always buy minimum of 2. IF it's bogo, I still buy one more especially if it's a neutral color.[QUOTE=Sheep Farmer;7733481]THANKS EVERYONE!
I don't have a LQS nearby, so JoAnn's (or online) is my only option.
I did go to JoAnn's and pick up the Gutermann's hand

I'm loving the Gutermann's hand-quilting thread. It is just what I was looking for. The piecing thread was just too thin and I never knew about coating it with wax as Bree mentioned above.
Ah, well. This is all new to me and I'm learning as I go!
