I have a Kenmore with snap on feet. I also have a smaller Janome that does not have snap on feet. My question is....if I buy another machine that has the "snap on feet" feature.....will my current snap on feet work on that machine? Are these type feet universal? I am looking at getting another Janome. If I am not mistaken.....doesn't Janome make the Kenmore machines? My current Kenmore is a horizontal load machine. I love it! I want another full size machine, but like the broader options that Janome has versus the Kenmore. When my DH bought me my current machine, he bought me all the presser feet that goes with that machine...bag and all....$200. I would still like to be able to utilize my presser feet on both machines without having to double up on the same feet. Any thoughts or help on this would be great!!

My Kenmore is a Janome - the Janome model with red coloring was a hundred dollars more. I did get the quilters pack when I bought the machine, and it came worth the standard feet. The only extra foot I've bought was a beading foot, made for Janome, and no problems at all.

I also have a Kenmore that I purchased about six years ago. I had looked at a Janome for $1200, the Kenmore had the same features and 50 more built in stitches and it was $599.00 and I love it. I am able to use the snap-on feet I bought for my Brother machine. As long as the shank for the snap on feet is the same size (they come in high shank or low shank) the snap on feet will work.

I have a old Kenmore that I use an adapter for so I can use the snap on feet from my other machines. Some brands may have a little wider/narrower bar where it snaps on, is what I was told when I asked sewing centers online. The "universal" snap on feet fit a lot of brands.

I am looking at this combo from Janome. Any thoughts? Does anyone have this machine and serger?

Me too, I have 2 kenmores, one is a newer computerized and the feet are interchangable.

Too bad the presser foot isn't because one of mine went belly up. :(
