Default Hand Towel Memory quilts

Hello Everyone,
I am a beginner with some experience in quilting...I love the craft of quilting. You can say I am hooked...I was asked if I could make a hand towel memory quilt for a friend...I have never done anything like this before, but aaaam up for the challenge...I was wondering if anyone one has ever done a memory quilt of hand towels, and if you would share you tips and advice with me? It would be greatly appreciated...Anything would be helpful...Thanks, Patti from Pa

That is interesting I would like to see a quilt made with hand towels. I have never heard of it.

Very interested as well. Looking for ideas for quilted memory lap throws for Christmas presents this year.. The adults might like this better.

You should not use your email address as part of your I.D.

Never seen or done this but it sounds interesting. I think it would be fun to collect some favorite sayings, likes, etc and embroidery them on the towels. No idea on how I would put it together.

My DD's MIL gave me a large bag of towels she had collected for years. I have no idea what to do with them. Maybe someone will give me an idea here.

Perhaps put them together as you would a raggy flannelette quilt?

Are they plain hand towels? ... or do each of them have something special on them?

Patti the reason to not include your email is because QB is a public forum and you may get a lot of junk spam. This forum is viewed by everyone not just QB members and sometimes is included on other sites as general information. You may have to contact a moderator to help change your profile? I think there was a quilt on QB done out of souvenir tea towels but I can't remember who posted it, sorry. My advice would be to cut them as little as possible if the weave is not too stable and to use larger seam allowances for the same reason. I see no reason why it wouldn't make a very nice quilt top. Go for it and welcome to QB!
