Default Hanging cutting mat

I bought a new cutting mat, I think 24" x 36 " and didn't think to make sure it fit flat where I kept my old, and smaller mat. Well, it's an inch too big, so I was wondering if hanging it would be a way to store it, without it warping?
It has a hole on one end, like it's meant to be hung, is 10 ft away from a heat vent, and is never in direct sunlight.

It's an Omnigrid, green on one side and gray on the other and it says that both sides can be used

i use two dressers back to back for a cutting table. i have three different sized mats. i hang the three mats on the side of the dressers. i drilled holes in the mats for even support across the width. then i put finishing nails in the end of the dressers at the locations of the holes. works great... no warping or anything with the mats.

I wouldn't hang one unless you can make sure it doesn't sag or bend. Do you have room under a bed where it would lay flat and stay cool?? These mats are sure thicker that others.

We have a hard floor in our sewing room with a large area rug in the center. I've started sliding my extra mat under the rug. It stays flat, out of the light, and is climate controlled.

I hang mine by the clips on a pants hanger and hang it behind the door of my sewing room from a wreath hanger.

only one hole doesnt' sound like it would hang well . I've seen them hung with binder clips on the top. more even.

I've seen them at an LQS and they were hung by 1 hole. You can tell they are warped. Guess that's why they are selling them 50% off. The larger rulers at that particular store are also warped....I would never buy the rulers.

My husband said he can drill a hole on each corner so the stress isn't on just the center hole. Glad it can be hung though
Thanks for the replies
