Has anyone made a quilt with old hankies? Know where I could get a pattern?
Welcome to the Quilting Board!

Has anyone made a quilt with old hankies? Know where I could get a pattern?
There have been a few posted on here. Check the search at the page top.
I am looking also. Did not find one in "Search". There is a book out by they are selling it for $31 - a bit too steep for me.
No offense, but just the thought of a hanky quilt....... :hunf: <---green around the gills LOLOriginally Posted by janice1120

I recieved a catalogue and it had 12 embroidered hankies in it my first thought was wouldn't it look good as quilt.Originally Posted by sue38
I want to make one of these too. I saw one made up a quilt show last spring. I don't want to spend $31 on a book either. I may just wing it!
Here's the hankie quilt I made. It's a wall hanging and was a ton of fun to make
There is a wonderful hankie quilt that uses them to make butterflies in a book called Antique Quilts Recreated
A Leisure Arts book by House of White Birches. It is called Mother's Handkerchiefs by Norma Pfister.
It is terrific! I found this which is the same as the book. $4.99

LEEANN: Love your quilt!
I made a few of the blocks but didn't have enough handkerchiefs for a whole quilt. It is very easy to do and looks like you would have taken forever making it! If you have a supply of them great 'cause hankies are getting expensive around here. You can pay up to $6.00 each. A few years ago you coouldn't give them away. Good luck with this project. I only wish I had a handkerchief supply to share.
