    Talking Happy camper

Husband bought me a featherweight 221. In beautiful condition, and I have the original sales receipt.
The receipt is dated October 10,1949 and the price was $145.00. She paid $10 a month. I have all the attachments she bought for it. It was a great find at a decent price.

Now I get to learn how to use her. Oh, her name is Lucy.

Fabulous! My DH bought me one a couple of years ago, but, paid a fortune for it - he said he bought it because he was tired of me "talking about wanting a Featherweight". Anyway, he went to the local sewing machine/vacuum cleaner repair shop and the guy there knew of a woman wanting to see her mother's machine - WHY?????? When he brought it home it was threaded, top and bottom, and I plugged it in and it purred immediately. What a thrill.
