Happy discovery...an easy override for the low bobbin sensor!

My Pfaff Performance 5.0 does the same thing as the Viking. If you dismiss the warning, you can only sew a few more stitches before it goes off again. I just keep on sewing, being mindful that I am getting near the end of the bobbin.

My old Viking D1 has that ability but hasn't worked in quite a while. Forgot to mention it when I took it in for service this last time and obviously he didn't check...............but then since I didn't tell him why would he? Anyway I use empty Neb bobbins when working with small repair jobs as I have only so many of the green bobbins. Plus I can wind them on my quilting bobbin winder as it won't work for the green bobbins. Love my old D1 though for piecing so will continue just the same and keep an eye on the bobbin when it gets low.

In the older Berninas the sensor is in the bobbin door too. But with my new Bernina 580, when it says the bobbin is empty, it's empty! It is so much better than having to fool with the door and having to sit there and catch it when the bobbin is empty.
