Did anyone make any New Years resolutions?

My #1 goal is to Quilt more (duh)
I only made 2 quilts in 2008 and 3 Christmas stockings

I haven't really decided on any other resolutions yet.

Maybe you guys could come up with some good ones?

I would like to have less UFOs at the end of the year than I do right now.

Happy New Year to everyone!

My resolution is to try to fine more time for quilting (which may have to mean wasting less time on housework!)

My worthy resolution is to not spend monies on new fabric any time soon since I have Many zip lock bags full of projects bought in 2008, just waiting for me to get started on.......but,but every time one goes to the quilt shop there is more new fabric to look at or a new one to hit the sale corner.. Happy New Year and best of health to everyone !

Hope 2009 brings health, happiness and joy to all!

NYE was dedicated to spending quality time with my DH. We've had a tough year...(he's been out of work, I've been sick, my mom died, his brother died, and a few other things) so we chose to celebrate the end of '08 just focused on the two of us and what is good in our lives so '09 can be a turning point for us.

It was such a nice evening...sometimes you just have to stop, take time and MAKE good things happen. It's so easy to get in a slump.

Some of the things I'd like to change this year (resolutions of sorts):
1) Slowing down and learning to say no
2) Making more time to quilt and cross-stitch
3) Remembering to fall in love all over again each day
4) Learning how to applique, make fabric postcards, and machine quilt

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF MY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!
JEANETTE
Thanks Jeanette. Some of the light is that we have each other here. I certainly have received encouragement and lots of valuable information from the kind people on this board.

I agree Gailg!!! I'm just in and out on this board, but it is one of the best things I did for myself in 08!
today is the 9th, but the year is still a wee baby.
I have re-organized my whole sewing room which made me re-organize many parts of the rest of the house. It's small and if you start moving one thing, you end up moving something else, but I am so happy with it all.
I am proud of myself for letting go of so many boxes etc. that were taking up so much space. It all started with hubby building new shelves in sewing room for part of my christmas present. wow, was that wonderful! I freed up so many bins that i used for putting christmas away. This year decorating will be so much easier than hunting thru all those boxes!!!
I always do my spring cleaning early. I'm supposed to be hunting a pink solid fabric right now, but needed to rest. My new "mission statement" or whatever you call it, is...making the most of my time in 09. I better hurry up and get rested then, lol. C oops! happy new part of the year to you all, lol!!!!!

Sweetness, you are soooo right. "Sometimes we have to stop, take time, and make good things happen." I am so sorry that you have had such a tough time. Were you also affected by the hurricanes? We were so fortunate. Here we sit right in the middle of it all and we were unharmed. TG. Just remember that these loved ones of yours are still with you in spirit. Cherish the memories. My mother-in-law passed on also this year.

It's great that you and you DH have re-dedicated yourselves to each other. How sweet. GBY. And I love your "resolutions."
