I bought 6 3 1/2 inch plastic clips (they look almost like scissors) for a little over $3 each this weekend. Used them today to put together several lap size "quilt sandwichs". I absolutely loved them; so much better than tape. I could really pull on the fabric, batting etc. to keep things taut and these were so easy to take on and off. My cutting surface was the kitchen counter and they gripped well without damaging anything. They do take some good hand gripping strength to open and close them.

Those little clamps in dayglo colors?

I tried walking out of the store but turned around and bought them. Haven't used them because they're just so damn cute to look at.
Couldn't not buy them.
