We just retired built a new home and I started quilting. I've made the small things, like pot holders and small table runners. Now, I'd like to tackle an easy quilt. Our bedroom is plain white walls with bright orange sheer curtains. I'd love to make a quilt with the orange color in it, but don't want it too orange. When the sun shines through the orange curtains, the room is just bright and beautiful. I'd like something tasteful, not gaudy. Do you have any suggestions?

Orange is not a favorite color. I have only used it as an accent color. Love it in teh fall color fabrics mixed in with all those browns, greens, golds, etc.

I bought some orange and it had like a dark tan leaves in it. It was beautiful fabric. I made it into D9P and love it. I am not a orange person either. But this one would look great. It also has some goldish in it. I would send a picture if I knew how lol.

I used to not like orange, now I seek it out. Funny how your tastes change over the years.

A part of my stash is bright oranges, yellows and pinks LOL
Yes, I do mean Brights  they almost hurt the eyes, but I intend to use them with some blacks to tone them down :D:D:D

Thank you for posting the peaches n dreams quilt pattern. I love it! I saved it and need to print it out as soon as I get more ink heh

I like the peaches n dreams quilt, but I think I like the idea of fall colors with the green, gold, bronze, brown, yellow colors... I'm going to see what I can find for material on the internet. And try to find a pattern that's not to difficult. Wish me luck on my first quilt.

I made a beautiful sampler with Orange, yellow, and a black geometric fabric. Both daughter and daughter in law requested the quilt. Since daughter asked a year before DIL she got the quilt.

I have been an orange freak for the last two years. They're just calling to me and I've been answering by adding them to my stash. Try a search for poppies. There are some out there that are just gorgeous - black background, beautiful orange, with some green and metallic gold. Don't know what I'm doing with mine yet, but I'll figure it out someday soon now.
