Is there a particular area of the quilt you will put a label on? I am new to this and would like some input.

I usually put mine in the lower right corner on the back. No real reason, just where I put them.

I like to put my label on the lower right or lower left corner right before I hand stitch the binding down to the back so that I only have two sides of the label to hand stitch once I finish hand-stitching the binding.

I put my name, city and state and the year (s)the quilt was made on a label sewn on the lower right corner on the back.
Another label with the name of the quilt and for whom it was made is sewn on the lower left side.

Sometimes they're hand embroidered labels, other times I print labels on pre-treated fabric with my logo.

Back side, lower right. Sometimes embroidered by a professional other times I write the info on a label with a pigma ink pen.
