Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone on here has hand sewn their Dear Jane quilt top instead of machine sewing the blocks? I would love to make a DJ but think it would be extra fun to do it completely by hand? Neat or crazy????

That is exactly how I am going to do mine just because I like having handwork to do and it drives me too crazy to sew little pieces on the machine.I got the book off of ebay for 12.00 but it has not gotten here yet. I hope I can do it with just the book and not have to spend the money on the software. And if I never get it done so what I will just add it to the ever growing lists

I would be willing to bet that Jane A. Stickle sewed a lot of those blocks by hand.

It can be done.

I believe there was someone on the current BOM thread that was doing exactly that, but sorry, I can't recall her name.

I actually have a friend on the board "Dotsie" I believe she is doing most of hers by hand. I envy her. I am machine sewing my blocks but I am going to hand quilt it. It is taking forever. but now that it is summer I have not been working on at all.

instead of the dear jane i opted to do the 'nearly insane' quilt- which is 220+ 3" blocks...by hand- made the first block- started the second and suddenly alot of life happened- and now it's crazy busy- it will be my (down time project) and probably take me the rest of my life. :)

That's what I'm doing. I only have a few blocks done. I may redo a couple because I don't like how they turned out though.
