I am such a dummy! I'm working on a block of the month and the month that I'm on has way, way too many little triangles. So I decided to replace the block with another. I got the instructions off the internet and started piecing it. I couldn't figure how the measurements were going to work, so being the math genious that I am, I decided that they were wrong and cut the pieces down. And guess what, yes, I was totally wrong. The block is too small and have to rip out the seams and do it over. UGH! I'm so mad at myself.

Yup, doing that sort of thing right now.
Got a pattern off the internet for a log cabin pattern.
It mainly tells you to look at the pictures for piecing.
Well, looking at the piecing, the number of strips and size of strips is WRONG! So, I cut MORE fabric to make up for THEIR mistake, only to stop, go back and look at what I originally cut and it's really not wrong. The PICTURE is wrong. They show putting the strips together by starting on the left, to the bottom, to the right, to the top. When in fact, if you stop and look at the strips that are cut, it is actually supposed to be put together by starting on the right, then top, then left, then bottom. Make sense??
So, now I have extra strips that will hang out in a baggie for a while. Hate that!

Like a mirror a camera reverses images. On Tv look at hands and most have wedding rings on the right hand. My brain has a time with these images , just like paper piecing. Does this make sense? I know what I mean...but hard to explain

I "make up" a lot of my patterns and cut and cut and way over cut. Grandson's quilt I drew a grid and then counted out all the pieces I would need and still cut too many!!! Think he will have a double sided quilt. Makes it very frustrating. Guess I can't count!!

Well, I feel better now. I ripped out the seams, cut the pieces using the correct measurements, sewed it all back together, and it's the right size now. Phew!
