Have you ever cut yourself on an Accuquilt die?

I'm not sure why there is mention of threads in my die in a few responses above?? This is the actual blade coming up above the foam and it stays there all the time. I haven't tried to push the blade back down but suppose if I used something flat and non-penetrable that may work (I have a metal ruler I could try). I'm in the middle of a project so I don't want to ruin the die. I'll have to try this in a few weeks.

Yes, I bought a 2.5" strip die and when it came in the mail the blade was popped up. I could see a mark where the die was probably dropped and pushed the blade up. I got a replacement, but am careful with this die as it is large, and I can see where knocking it against something might cause this problem.
Does anyone notice that their blades are getting dull? How long/how much use does it take before a replacement is necessary?

Because usually the culprit of the blade showing above the foam is threads. They can get jammed down next to the blade and keep the foam from decompressing.

Yes, I have. In my case, the 2.5 inch die (very heavy for a Studio) was slipping out of my hand and I grasped it to stop it falling. My wrist pushed on the blade and I was cut. We must be careful with our toys.
I learned my lesson. When it slipped out of my hand a second time, it was allowed to fall on my foot. I was expecting PAIN so I screamed in advance...and no pain. Or my neuropathy didn't let me feel it!
So far, no blades have popped out.
