if so opinions on them? are they worth it or is it easier to mark 1/4 seams with a regular ruler by turning it?

Mine's from Threads of Time and not a F&P but I LOVE it. You can mark on either side or just use it like a regular ruler then sew on both sides of the line. I just like the UN-bulkiness of it.

I LOVE MINE!!!! Seriously, it's the ONLY way I would have survived making that bumble bee quilt (and most of my boomerang blocks too!)

I lay it down so the center line connects the points, then draw down both sides (without moving the ruler).

Presto! Sew on both drawn lines, cut down the middle - happy girl with no stress!

I've had mine (Omni guid) for 3 years. When doing 1/2sq triangles are very helpful. Also when hand piecing I pull out the small one to ck my seams.

I have one but never use it any more - my fingers are too big to use it smoothly and I can do the same thing with my other rulers just as easily, or use my presser foot to mark my quarter inch for sewing

that's what I do - draw a line and use the presser foot for the seam allowance; my Jem Gold and Platinum both have an extra piece on the foot to keep you at 1/4". The Bernina has a 1/4" foot.
