Has anyone used the Cricut machine for cutting fabric? If so, did you like it or not? I am considering purchasing one.
Thanks,

Live life as an exclamation and not an explanation.
There many, many blog reviews and youtube tutorials showing the pros and cons.
There are also some threads here on the QB.
A simple Google search will lead you to many of them:

I was looking at the Gypsy (in conjuction with the Cricut) so I could do compeltely original motifs/designs without relying on cartridges or mass-produced designs.

Yes, but let me tell you it was trial and error learning but it is possible. Deep cutting blade is needed, brand new really sticky mat necessary separate from one for paper, and designs have to be not too complex. Haven't tried the silhoutte yet but I am sure it's comparable. It is also good to have a brayed to roll the fabric good on the mat. Heat and bond lite worked better for me than steam a seam did.
