I have been collecting old neckties from friends and relatives and now have enough (I believe) to make a quilt. Does anyone know of a website that has a necktie crazy quilt pattern for free?

I searched for some patterns but couldn't find any. There are a couple books that have patterns.

I have seen them as dresden plates.

This one was posted on the board by Lovetoquilt and is one of the most beautiful I've seen. She gives more details about the pattern on page 2, from Fons and Porter's Quick Quilts from the Heart, Fancy Fans pattern

Thanks for the replies that I have gotten so far.
I have seen a crazy quilt tie pattern (not the dresden plate), I just can't find the pattern. I guess I will have to make one up using the traditional crazy quilt patterns that are available.

You don't really need a pattern. Just sew them together to whatever size. then square it up to whatever size you want.

Hi Aileen!
I think i'd get ahold of "I love to quilt" and ask her for the pattern. Being a quilter, i bet she'd share. Her dresden is really great, especially the border which i wouldn't have thought of.

Well, I guess I am answering my own question, it's not a free pattern. I finally found a book titled:

Daddy's Ties by Shirley Botsford

I can't view the pages because of copyright laws but thought I would take a chance on this. I also ordered another book on Crazy Quilting. I am looking for different ways to embellish. So I figure I shouldn't go wrong with these two books.

Thanks again for all of your suggestions.
