I'm packing today for my trip to Wichita, Ks. My son and granddaughter live there . I'm really not excited about driving by myself ( hubby can't make this trip) as I've gotten older I've become more cautious. Anyway should be around a 12 hour drive. Does anyone know any good shops on my way.I start in Louisville to St. Louis, to Kansas City then down to Wichita.
I actually will touch 5 states..ha KY, Indiana, Illinois,Missouri and Kansas.
and Please say a quick prayer for my safety. I leave early tomorrow morn!

don't know of any quilt shops on the way but wanted to offer you encouragement for your drive. Having had to make an 800 mile trip one way by myself in the last couple weeks to to see my mom before her death.Let me suggest Rest breaks> Pull into the rest area, lock your doors, and rest your eyes. It sure helped me several times.

Do you have a GPS? I went from Oklahoma to North Dakota last year on my first big girl trip and it was a life saver!!!

Let us know what you find in Wichita, my son was just transferred to the Air Force Base there and I'm sure I will be making a trip soon.

There is a quilt shop in Wichita called Hen Feathers. I did a google search and I think that there might be enough here to keep you busy! LOL

There are some nice quilt shops there in Wichita.
My MIL goes to them alot, too bad she won't buy me stuff from there. lol
Anyway....once you get there, just pick up the phone book....you'll find them. I know there is one that is/was right across from the mall. I think it was on the side where the Olive Garden is.....
Have a great time and drive safe!
