This has been showing up on the art quilting boards, but I thought maybe some here might like to turn some scraps into hearts and let the people of Christchurch NZ know that they are in our thoughts. http://heartsforchristchurch.blogspot.com/

(my apologies if this is in the wrong section)

I couldn't find why they are asking for hearts. It sounded like something has happened but what? They just want hearts?

New Zealand, esp. the town Christchurch suffered a terrible earthquake. A lot of the town is destroyed , there are over 150 death so far and lots of people are still missing.

What a nice thing to do. I'm going to get a few done - let's all try and send one. If you read the blogspot, you don't have to stuff it if you don't want. That will make mailing a bit easier.

I looks like a great way to use some leftover batting and some of the fancy stitches on my machine.
We could just trace a heart on Warm and Natural and then cut out 2 pieces of solid or lite color scrap fabrics. Then sandwich. Stitch some fancy stitches back and forth across the sandwich and it will look pretty nice.
If it is flat I think it will be cheaper to ship...
