hello all...

somewhere down the road one of my projects that i pulled a bunch of florals for is going to be a log cabin quilt (thnx much to whomever i have stolen the idea from lol)

anyway...i think i got the lights and darks down but i would like some extra opinions...

and then i have what i cant really figure out where it fits in a light/dark catagory...maybe they really are in the medium range which will work...

hopefully you can give me some thoughts...TIA

I have found with log cabins that as long as the lights are all "light" and all the darks are "dark", the patterns and values are not as important. Looks like you are doing scrappy, so the differences will just melt into the whole.

I like your selections!!

All look fine except the upper left hand corner in your dark batch 1. That lighter blue just jumps out at me.

I thin you need to contact , Barnbum...she does amazing log cabins using florals...she would help you spot any patterns that won't flow.

As long as there is contrast, but if you cannot determine which batch to put them in, I would probably not use them. I like the batch best in the 3rd picture of dark best with your picture of lights.

Though in the 2nd pic of the same grouping, it looks considerably darker. The one closest to the centre is usually the lighter one, so chances it'll be fine.

The one that got me is in the 2nd grouping, bottom row on the right. Then in the 2nd pic, it looks right on.

Unfortunately we often don't see the "real" colours ... go with what it is like IRL!

Yes, I agree. Mediums do make a difference. You'll want to stick with just the lights and darks. Pretty fabrics!

If you will squint your eyes real close on each group, you can see the lights, mediums and the darks real good.
