Thread: Help with colors for baby quilt

A co-worker's daughter is having a baby soon. He wants me to make a baby quilt and the colors are magenta & purple..what other color would you suggest I also use>

Gray.... it's the new white.

green would look great with those colors

Gosh, I'd go with a light color, since purple is dark and magenta is intense. Light green or yellow or white or cream or even a very light pink would work well.

If this quilt were for a teenager, rather than a baby, I'd probably use black (as long as the purple wasn't almost-black.

Yellow would be pretty with it.

Ditto! Light or dark, but not bright. but try to bring in some pastels like faded rose or faded lavender.

My immediate thought was cream or white also.

I'd go with lighter pinks and lavenders.

Your color wheel opposites are yellow-green, yellow and green. Georgia

I like the idea of a light gray. .. I think that would be a very "modern" color combination. and i always like yellow with purple!
