Ok, I got so excited when at Joanns sale yesterday I picked up the wrong computer printer fabric. I got dry clean only. I have opened it and printed a picture now trying to decide what procedure should I follow to find out how it can be washed! Yep, trying to find a way to clean it without dry cleaning. Has anyone had any luck? Or does anyone out there want it? I will have to go back to Joanns today and buy the washable stuff.....do not want to go back; afraid I will spend too much. Any advice would be appreciated!!!

I realy don't think there is anyway to wash it other then dry clean. Minute drop of water hits it the ink runs . But I really don't know just my idea. Will be watching for more info though.

Not sure if this will help but I use Dryel at home dry-cleaning kit (has a bag that goes in your dryer0 to freshen woolens. Maybe you could use it. Haven't tried it on photo fabric.

I THINK I GOT AN IDEA!!! Gammieju has posted a way to dilute down fabric glue and dab with a sponge over the photo. No rubbing. I am going to try that. If it works......I owe gammieju!!!

have you experimented with the picture you printed??? heat set it? set it aside to cure...take it to the sink and run cold water through it, see if the ink comes out or not...it really should depend on the permenence/quality of your ink whether or not this fabric will be ok or not.
    is it cotton?
i have lots of (dry clean only's) that get washed all the time...without problems....
if the ink does run when cold water is ran through the picture i would only use those fab=sheets for wall hangings or items that will not need laundering.
i hope it does not wind up being a waste for you

I wonder if you could spray it with a clear acrylic spray paint--a light coat on both sides of fabric should not make it too stiff, but might seal the ink to the fabric. Worth a try.
