This would be perfect. Babies see primary colors first. That is why so many toys are those bright colors. You could make a pastel one after he/she is born.

I figure it is going to be a girl since they want a boy. A little girl would be nice since I had just 2 boys. lol

I have a pattern that uses primary colors, that is what I want to do, but I am having a hard time finding the right green that doesn't look to old (if you know what I mean) I found a kind of country blue and red that have stars through it, and found a nice bright yellow, but the green has me stumped. I do have one more store to check, just haven't got there yet.

thanks for all the ideas, if you have made a nice gender non-specific quilt and could post a picture, I would love to see them!

Red, Blue and Yellow are primary colors. Orange, Green and Purple are secondary. Then you go out the color wheel from there.

This is what I made for my first grandbaby. I started before we knew the gender but it turned out to be a boy. Adam is 13 months old now.
