Help I need ideas for a wedding lap quilt

My niece in UK gets married the first week of May so not much time. Her wedding colors are royal blue and ivory. No time really for a large quilt and the shipping would be quite costly from the northwest US area.
My niece is a dog trainer , she and her fiancé both have huskies , so not sure if to do a doggy quilt ( not really suited to those colors) or maybe a small color coordinated photo memory quilt using the ivory/cream as the photo backing and then the blue background.
I am now hurriedly finishing my first stippled lap quilt ( a practice one really and not too happy w/it but we sewers are our own worst critics I think, others don't see the mistakes that we see- ha.
Luckily I just purchased a new Babylock Melody which has a nice large S type quilting design pre-set.
All ides welcome or pattern suggestion that are reasonably simple.

Here is a block. I couldn't find a pattern, but it has blue and cream. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/179299628888333252/
I promise not to buy any more fabric until I see something I really like. Or it's on sale. Or I think it might match something.

my suggestion is to make a pretty quilt with a block pattern of your choice in the themed colors. then use this applique pattern as the outline for the quilting. there is a .pdf download here. http://www.fourtwinsisters.com/free-...rianHusky.html

Was not able to get this pattern to open up w/Adobe ? Good idea though.

A table runner might be quicker to do but a lot of young folks don't use them. I am contemplating a wedding ring design but would like to get the precut circles , doubt they would be in all blue shades though. They already have a lot of photo gifts as the dogs are show dogs too.

I prefer your idea of a memory quilt but I'm sure they will love whatever you make for them.

I am doing a table runner for a friend's daughter wedding and using the brides color of pink and champagne. Might be something to consider doing a table runner since it could be sent in a priority flat envelope. Good Luck with your project.

Do you have your heart set on using the wedding colors? I might ask what their colors are for the living room. Or what are their favorite colors. Then you could go from there.

OK -ready or not this is my start to a small lap quilt or wall hanging- bold Moda solids. I may also do a more girl table runner but I know chevrons are in fashion right now and Europe generally like bold colors. I need to make it wider. Its 26 x 46 right now. What color to add to sides ( maybe cream, grey or royal blue or even a lime-yellow )Name: DSCF0018.JPG

If not a table runner, maybe a bed runner, a candle mat or small table topper?

This is a cute and easy pattern from Block Party Studios (their patterns come with the pre-printed fabric): http://www.blockpartystudios.com/sho...l-x2918259.htm.
