How old is daughter? My nephew at 12 told me exactly the pattern and the co.ours he wanted. While he was drawing and telling me his5 year old brother was co.ouring in. When we had finished he came up with a co.ourful picture of the dinosaur quilt he wanted. Both drawings and instructions were nough to make a quilt.

My vote is for something like this "Twisted Patchwork" http://www.free-quilting.com/detail....200&cat_id=436 pattern. You would pick a focus fabric and then two solids/blenders for the trellis effect. I would ask her to pick out the focus fabric.

Lots of good ideas here!

Maybe a rail fence would work for you. Might meet your requirements. I just finished one in purple and white. Let me see if I have a picture....just in case you find it helpful...

This one looks interesting. I like how the pieces change direction.

"Twisted Patchwork"

Thank you for telling me about this one. I'd have to do some tweaking.
