Default silver fabric for Pot Holders Backing

Does anyone have a source for the silver fabric used as backing for pot holders. Cannot remember what is really called. Thanks in advance.

Probably thinking of insul-bright, here's my favorite small chain that I shop online. It's even in stock there. Have used Fields several times and always had a good result.

I used the silver ironing board cover fabric and it worked perfectly for a grill mitt. I bought it at JoAnn's.

Ironing Board covers is exactly what I use. It cost less than by the yard this way. Check you local dollar store. Just be sure it is not real thin if getting from dollar store. I have had great success with the ironing board covers and get a good number of 8" pot holders out of a single one. You can also check out Walmart for a better one.

You are right, Insulbrite it's a heat barrier batting. I see the silver heat resistant fabric at Walmart from time to time in with the Pellon products.

When you make a hotpad, how many layers do you use? I have some Insulbrite. Should I use two pieces with a light batting between and then the outer cover?

I think Insulbrite suggests you use cotton batting on each side of the Isulbrite, and then the exterior fabric.
