Elizabeth, Do you have freecycle locally? I just got a Singer that is away at servicing but am anxious to try it out.

[quote=Loretta]I find if I don't clean my machine after each project, the lint builds up and can break threads. Do you have one of those little soft brushes to clean your bobbin case? [/quote

    Loretta & Elizabeth,
I use an old regular toothbrush to clean lint. I do some work with flannels and find that my bobbin case is a real lint collector. Just a few swipes of the soft toothbrush and I'm good to go.

You know it's a bit funny to me all this "buy a new machine stuff". Seriously my machine isn't having any of the kind of problems that it would be having if I needed to REPLACE IT. Come now what's a bit of thread and lint anyway?

I was just looking for a thread that would break or run or spilt.

Elizabeth, I bet if you just change to a different needle it might help. I use Schmetz- Microtex . I use Guttermann cotton thread, and have had problems with Coats Cotton.it breaks easily.

I am in central florida and love garage sales, I will keep an eye out for you so that you can have a back up. How close are you to the coast, I have a brother that lives in Destin? Cindy

I love the thread at Connecting Threads! I ordered my first couple of spools a month or so ago and I just love it! I will definitely be ordering from them again.
