I use fusable Pellon on the inside. If you did what I am always doing; accidently slicing the fabric in the seam line when using the seam ripper. I press a light weight fusable Pellon to the inside of the seam area covering the cut spot and surrounding area about 2 inches. Then I just sew the seam. Check the exposed area, and if I see the slit area is on the outside, I use fray check and let it dry. If that doesn't work, I applique. By the way, just love your quilt.

Yep, I'm always having little accidents like that.

If you have sticky stabilizer (which is mainly used for embroidery) cut a little piece to cover the tear. Peel off the backing and place the sticky part over the tear. Works wonders and stays strong, too. You can even sew right over top of it.

If you need a piece of sticky, I will send you a scrap. I save just about every piece because you can repair with it!!

Can you darn it? Take some matching thread and weave a darn over the spot, closing it up, and then sew the seam just a tiny bit wide if you have to.

That works! Is the most invisible and lasts and lasts!
and it washes well too!
Iron the patch on and forget it. If you need to you can put a sliver of fabric on it to fill the hole and iron the whole thing together.

I cut some threads off a finished quilt once and made a tiny nick right on the front. I stitched it with some thread and put a purchased tiny Lady bug applique over it- stitched down really well! I told my friend that I had put something "special" just for her on the quilt- she just had to find it. She loved it.

Your quilt is beautiful and I'm sure your GD will love it to death. I'd put a small heart or other applique over the little hole with fusible like Heat n Bond. Gorgeous work.

Couldn't have done it with out the people on this board. Wouldn't have tackled it with out the things I've learned here. I love you all.
When you bleed on your quilt, you can put a drop of hydrogen peroxide on the spot and the blood will disappear most of the time. I stick my fingers sometimes and get blood on my quilts. I always have hp handy. My granddaughter had a huge "female" accident on a white floweredy sheet. I soaked in hp and you cannot even tell!
Another thing that works very well in taking out bloodstains, even very old ones, is liquid eye wash!
For removing stains that are years old, apply it with a Q tip, let sit a good while(the older =the longer) and using another Q-tip dipped in distilled water- dab that on to rinse it. Rinse it several times using the least amount of water yo can. Dry as well as you can using some paper towels. The stain will continue to lighten and usually disappears.

I agree that appliquing over it will do the trick. I use applique to cover a lot of "oops". And I do mean a lot. :)
Beautiful quilt, by the way.
