Smile Help - looking for a quilting tool...

I don't have a clue what it is called so don't know how to find it on line. I ripped out a seam at a quilting guild meeting and a gal handed me a tool to clean up the loose threads. It almost looked like a pencil with sort of a big eraser on the end. It worked great (much to my surprise) so I thought I'd pick one up at JoAnns....wrong. They didn't have them and had no clue what I was talking about.

Of course I knew all I had to do was ask on the Quilting Board and I'd get an answer licketey split - LOL...the GENIUS Board.

Thanks for any help you can give me. Pat

I just googled "seam rip thread remover" and several things popped up. Here's one on Amazon:

That's the one! I have those in two sizes and love them. Picked them up I LQS before Christmas last year and was able to gift them to fellow quilters. You will love it.

Thank you IQ....... I swear I wrote a response earlier but I have no idea what happened to it.....it's not here. Oh well, I'm so happy to find where I can get one and doubly happy because everyone is commenting about how much they like theirs.

Yes it would make a great gift for a quilting buddy. Thank you all for the help and responses. Pat

Another tip - you can also use an emery board to pick up stray threads.

Walmart here has the Seam Fix. Also Fons and Porter's big red and cream seam ripper handle will do the same thing but you have to put the ripper end cap on first or ouch. The end of the Seam Fix is latex. A big latex white eraser will work but then you have to keep up with two tools instead of one.
