Hi all,
I am hoping to make my oldest daughter a table runner for her birthday. I have a couple charm packs that go together (not brights but darker blues, greens, burgandy, browns and golds) and I wondered if any of you could point me to a free pattern to use some up. I have done the twister one and I could do that I guess. I take longer to figure out what pattern to use than I take to make the project. Not to hard of pattern please. Anyway, if anyone has an awesome pattern to share with me I would be most grateful. Hope you all had a great 4th of July and God Bless America1

how about a few of yur favorite blocks, or d9p, or log cabin???? google or bing table runners. i making one now from chicken scratch it should take me about 100 to 200 hrs to complete

Thanks, I do have lots of blocks I could pick out but I just wondered if someone had a pattern they loved. I did google table runner free patterns but was not too happy with the results. I hope you are talking about a large quilt and not a table runner taking 100 to 200 hours. :o) What is chicken scratch?

If you can sort your charm pack by color families, this one will work. I sorted the charms by color, cut the them in half, lined them up and sewed them end to end, moving down the stacks as I started each vertical row (column one started at the first stack, column two started with the second stack, etc). When I sewed the sides together, I shifted each one a half unit. I had an odd number of strips, so when I reached the center, I shifted directions. If your number is even, then just keep going for a diagonal effect. Sounds harder than it is.

The only change I would make is to make the ends a smaller angle - less pointed. You could even do it as a rectangle - no points.
