Default Help me find the right pattern!!

I want to make all my grandchildren a quilt, when they graduate school. My first is going to college for accounting. So, I need a 'GUY" quilt that ??sorta represents the 'old' accounting (before computers!! LOL) columns, boxes, etc. I'd like if he could carry it thru life and use. Not interested in 'college' quilts. Any nice patterns you know of??

When I think of accountants, I think of line graphs with arrows or pie charts. What about something like a bargello with one line ending in an arrow?

I wonder if your focus should be the fabrics rather than the pattern? I am a CPA and have seen several great speciality fabrics for accountants. The have prints of accounting spreadsheets, or money themes, etc. that are unisex and would make quilts. Then you could use any pattern that worked with the scale of the fabric prints. If you find a couple of good focus fabrics, the BQ pattern by Maple Island Quilts is my backup pattern for themed quilts--I have used it for photography, travel, and other special topic gift quilts.

Make something like this and call it Balance Sheet.

I would make the tie to accounting subtle. Many many college students change their majors, some more than once.

I think you should ask your grandson. If you have his input it is more likely to be a quilt that he will use.

I like the idea of the "Plus" quilt too. I see someone already mentioned it. Here is another link
