I am planning on making a baby quilt using the attached pattern. I have already selected 5 different prints from Robert Kaufman's Creatures & Critters collection.

I need help selecting fabric for the filler squares and the strips. I will probably just use a solid colour for the boarder (not pictured in the pattern).....the boarder will probably be blue.

Thanks quilting friends!

I am shopping at http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/index.aspx

Orange....yellow....varigated shades of green in stripes, swirls, and dots. Lots of potential using the fabrics and pattern you picked.
You picked bright and colorful fabrics...very good choices.

I agree totally with auntluc - love the fabrics you have chosen and the colors she suggested seem to me to be wise ones. Don't forget to post a pic when you get it done.

I ordered the fabric I posted along with 2 different shades of blue. Would you suggest I use a print for the filler blocks, or would a solid look okay?

Thanks!

Solid would look fine, or a tonal that would appear solid from a distance. Looks like all the prints you chose are the same scale, bringing in another print could get a bit "busy"

Ditto what Moonpi said. If you have all the same size prints you lose the affect. It will look like one big piece of fabric. Notice in the picture how the offset block has a small overall pattern.
