MC9700 or MC 9500 flash card will work. These are not Janome products. You get them at a computer store. You will see an opening where they slide in. You will need a pc card reader on your computer, or buy the USB plug in reader. Be sure you get the adapter for the flash car as it is so small you must put it in the adapter and then into the reader. It acts as a drive on your computer. Load your designs on it and then put into your 9500 and sew.

I'm a visual person so I hope this will help you.
The compact flash card reader/writer hooks into one of the usb ports on your computer. The compact flash slides into it. Then you find your design on your computer and send to the card reader/writer. You then remove the compact flash and insert it into the compact flash pc card adapter. Take that and insert into the slot on your computer. All of these can be purchased at a computer store and sometimes at the dealer where you brought your machine.
Here are the pictures. Some of the newer computers have a slot where the compact flash can be inserted so you would not need the card reader/writer. Hope this helps you.

You need the card reader/writer. You insert the small compact flash card into the reader/writer. Go on your computer and find the design you want. It must be in the sew or jef format before you can use the design. Go into Customizer 10,000 a program that should have come with your Janome. Bring up the design and send it to the card. Remove the card and insert it into the pc card adaptor. Turn on your machine, click emb. mode and get the design and go from there.

You really should go to the Janome dealer and ask questions and have him show you how to use everything. They are usually helpful even if you didn't buy it from them. Your always going to have some questions until you get the hang of it and dont be afriad to ask the dealer or us.
