Default Help with my Pfaff 2020

I am ready to pull my hair out! I know I'm probably missing something real obvious but I have tried to open the machine to change the lightbulb and it will not come off. I don't want to break the machine because I really enjoy using it. The bulb had to be ordered cause, of course, it was so different Anyway if anyone has any ideas or if you have had this experience, I'd Love To Hear From You. Thanks for listening.

I have the Pfaff Tiptronic 2040 and have changed the light bulb a couple times---there is a white plastic thing with slots in the round end which fits up over the bulb. You push it up as far as it will go and then turn it half a rotation counterclock-wise and pull it out. insert the new bulb in the slots and push it upward into the machine as far as it will go--then turn it half a turn clock-wise and pull the holder off the bulb. Should have your machine laying on its side when trying to do the changing so you can see what you are trying to do. Hope this helps with your machine and if I can help any more just pm me. I've never been able to open my machine case, either.

Thank you, Gladygirl! I will be trying it again with your instructions this weekend. I'm recovering from rotator cuff surgery and will need my hubby's help My next step was going to take it and the bulb to a service person and pay them to do it which rubs me the wrong way. I should be able to change a lightbulb! Reminds me of some jokes I've heard that start out How many_________does it take to change a lightbulb.............

Gladygirl is spot on - that's how to change the lightbulb in a 2020. You do need the little tool to do it, but it isn't difficult once you have it correctly inserted. I have the 2020 instruction manual if you need help.

Me again---the little white tool should be included in the accessories you got with the machine. It is about 2 1/2 -3 inches long--round on one end which goes over the bulb and sort of pointed on the other end. Good luck.

Me again--again!!!! Don't touch the new bulb with your bare fingers--use a soft cloth or tissue so you don't leave fingerprints on it --guess the oil on your skin will cause the bulb to burn out sooner.

You do not take the cover off your machine--just lay it on its side with the bulb facing you and you will be able to see where it is and get at the bulb with your tool. In my 2040 manual there is a page in the maintenance section that shows the tool and instructions for replacing bulb==all the way to the back of the book so you have to search for it. Let us know how you come out with this little task---I'll be thinking of you this weekend. If your hubby is no handier than mine, you'll be wise to keep him out of the room--after he lifts the machine onto its side for you !!!!!

I feel ABSOLUTELY Stupid! I'm going to blame it on my shoulder injury and pain meds but it really is I just didn't sit in front of the machine while reading everything. My hubby said he would look at it and had it fixed in under a minute! Thank you so much for your help. I am sure you thought I was .... well..... I don't use that word. Thanks!
