Default Help needed for 12 blocks already quilted

My friend has had these forever. They are beautifully hand quilted. However, she never finished the class and has forgotten - if she ever knew - how they were to all go together. I think she should just do a border around each one and then put them together. But the borders won't have batting!

I know someone here knows how this should be done! Thanks in advance.

Go see if your local library has any books on quilt as you go and one of them will tell you how to join the blocks so there's batting in the joins.

This tutorial http://www.sewwequilt.com/2011/03/qu...u-go-qayg.html (once you get past the block assembly - you can ignore that), shows how to attach quilt as you go with narrow sashing (which has batting)

If the blocks are complete join with a fancy wide zigzag, think joining two seams. If not finished, 2ways.
1. Top of block just machine join, ensuring areas match. Turn to back flatten front seam and hand join batting. Now turn over the backing easy to hand stitch .
2. With sashing. 2inch wide strips sew both onto one block you can sew on batting but I prefer next step. Top downwards and hand sew strip of batting to block . Take 2nd block and sew onto top sashing. Hand sew batting I place. Now just hand stitch into place. Then quilt stashing if you wish.
