Help needed in selecting fabric for a quilt...
#1
I can save over $5 a yard if I order fabric online, not to mention have access to a bigger selection of fabric....I just miss the assistance of the shop clerk giving input and being able to see the fabric together.
I am planning on making my best friend a quilt as part of her wedding gift. I want it to look great, so I am looking for advice of all my fellow quilters here : o )
This is the pattern I will be using:
Going from left to right, starting in the upper left hand corner are blocks A B and C.
Block A
although I am thinking that this blue might look better
Block B
Block C
Backing
This collection is by Timeless Treasures and is called Amelia.

I like your choices! The only thing I can see is maybe swapping your fabrics in A & B, I think what you have for B will fade into your C block. If you swap them there is a little more contrast. Does that make sense? Just my opinion. (My oldest daughter would love these fabrics)

I love the pattern and the fabric you have picked out. That is going to be a gorgeous quilt. I agree with Melissa, though, block A never touches block C and I think the fabrics you have picked for block A (I would use the darker blue) would look better next to C. So I would use block A fabrics for block B and block B fabrics for block A. I think I am saying the same thing as Melissa-is this clear as mud???

I agrere with Marcia and Melissa, totally. The fabrics you have for block A (again I prefer the darker blue) are more blenders and would look better used in block B between the very distinctive fabrics in block C and the two you chose for B that would then be moved to A. I think it would have more harmony that way. Nice choices for pattern and fabrics!

I like the blues (either would be good) but I think the prints are a little busy together because of the bold colors. Maybe a lighter colored prints?
I can't wait to see what you choose and see it finished, it's going to be so pretty!
