I am making the patriotic twister flag. I did fine until I got to Upper Stripes. Pattern says to assemble sewing red square, red rectangles and white squares together. I do not see any part of patterns that shows the use of rectangles. I measured every square in the pattern and they are all the exact measurement. Has anybody done this pattern?

Are the rectangles the edge, 2 colour units? You would not have a full twister square so that called them rectangles? That is just a guess because I have no experience with that pattern.
