I am at a lost at how I should quilt the main square (lap size quilt) fabric which contain the various horses. I plan to echo quilt the brown using the strip fabric as the pattern. I quilt on my Bernina 1530. I have been looking at this completed top for over 3 weeks and I come up with a BLANK on how to quilt this block. ANY suggestions?? Please keep it simple because of my disability which affects my motor skills. This is for my best friend's sister so I want her to be able to enjoy it for many years. I just recently found out that she has horses on her property. I am using the coordinating print for the backing. I plan to use Hobbs cotton batting. THANKS !!!!

I may be strange, but I think I might just SID around the squares for the horses and not quilt over the horses themselves.

Yea, I agree too, do a SID. I have this pattern and I wondered why I bought it. The picture of the envelope is near as pretty as your quilt. Great job. Hopefully you have inspired me to make one.

I HOPE so TOO. It is a simple pattern but if you have a directional fabric such as this, remember to make HALF of your blocks different otherwise you'll have half of them upside-down !! I ALWAYS lay out the quilt top just to make sure I haven't made a mistake. I HATE ripping out a seam. GOOD LUCK !!!
