Unhappy Help with a Singer 15-91

I put it away a few years ago and it worked good. I pulled it out a few days ago and am having a problem with it. It will sew 3 or 4 stitches and skip 6 or 8. Any help will be greatful, Thanks Mike.

I'm guessing that you tried the usual - cleaning, making sure there is no thread caught anywhere, new needle, rethread, wind new bobbin, bobbin in correctly, etc.?

I agree, it might be the needle. Try taking it out and reinserting it. But honestly, if I had a machine that I'd not used for that long, I'd take it to the local sewing machine fixer for a tune up before I tried to use it for making something.

Thanks for the help. I'll try a new needle and see if that's a fix.

That's what it was. I never thought to change the needle after 4 quilts. Now if I can locate some light bulbs for it.

Make sure it is oiled nicely, I love my old Singer 15's but they do like to have some oil now and then They are wonderful and require very little maintence. Make sure your machine threaded properly too.
