I just bought a Janome 3000 at a yard sale. Got it home, sewing fine for about 12 inches, then just shut off. the light went off and the machine will not sew. My husband checked the electrical connection. Has power, but still won't sew. Is there a reset switch? Did I do something wrong? Has anybody else had this problem? Do you know where I can get help with it? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Try a local sewing repair man who knows the Janome 3000.

I found this instruction manual for it online:
http://content.janome.com/documents/...k%20MC3000.pdf

Have you checked the bobbin winder? If that accidentally got pushed to the wrong position, the machine won't stitch.

I don't have that machine, but was going through the manual and it says the machine never needs oiling!

thanks for the help. we do not have a local Janome repair location. Will have to drive a couple of hours to find one.
I have the instruction book, but need a repair manual, if such an item is available.

I was so excited to get this machine. It was brand new in the box, but don't know when or where it was purchased. I am anxious to get it fixed and get to my quilting. I have an old Singer I can use, but this one has the drop down feed dogs which I've been wanting for some time to do meandering on my quilts.

Yes, one local shop, but the turn around time is anywhere from 1-2 months. Otherwise, its at least 1-1 1/2 hr trip. That may be my only option, though. I am going to try to call Janome tomorrow.
