I treated myself to a pair of plastic King Kraft brand sawhorses on sale recently at Sears. They were half price or $12.49 plus MI sales tax. And....they were made in the USA :-)

My portable design wall is actually a cork bulletin board which is 24" by 36" I can now support the bulletin board horizontally with the saw horses.

Instant tabletop space to the immediate left of my sewing machine is very helpful. My sewing area is small and the fact that I can store the two sawhorses folded up is a bonus!

Folded dimensions are listed as 22.4 x 1.8" x 32.3

I am sure this idea is not original. I just decided this set up was practical for location of my homemade Big Board or the bulletin board design wall.

A board with 4 legs that form an upside-down v. you may call them something different. Carpenters use them to support boards for cutting, as scaffolding etc. Quilters use them as legs for makeshift cutting tables, quilting frames.

You can find plastic ones too. They are lightweight but still sturdy.

DH set up two of the plastic sawhorses and put a 4 x 8 piece of plywood on top. I used that for my wrapping table for Christmas. It sure made wrapping a lot of gifts easier. The horses are simple to put up and take down and can be stored just about anywhere and very inexpensive.

Great we call them trestles over here.. a trestle table is a door size piece of wood held up by these things, used as a temporary table.
