Do most of you go to the local fabic shop to get you suppies or do you order online? I'm new at quilting and so far I've been going to local stores and walmart. I've never ordered online.
Thanks for the advice.

I shop everywhere, online, LQS, garage sales, craigslist, ebay, you name it. Wherever I can find the best price for what I want and need.

I love to go to the store for fabric...its nice to get out of the house...I have more than 4 quilt shops near by and several fabric stores an 3 Joann's within 1/2 hour. I do not buy fabric or shop at Walmart but have it near by. 3 within 1/2 hour...I have not been to the house of Martins but heard its good...that is 1/2hour away. Keepsake quilting is an hour been there.

Locally as well as on-line. Links section here is a great source for on-line bargins.

That is great. I only have 2 shops within 30 miles. If I go to Lincoln I have more but that is an hour and half.

I shop mostly at local shops, but I do order online, too. I find I like to be able to touch the fabric and actually see the true colors. :D

I am more and more ordering online and also buying, because of economy, off this list or ebay previously owned fabric. All together buying way less over the last 3-4 years.

I've never shopped online for fabric. You'd have to pay shippig on top of the price of the fabric, but if its out of state I suppose you save the sales tax.
