I have seen some neat diamond shapes made out of hexs. I also did the tradition GFG.

I'm doing the diamond shape one with 3/4 inch hexie's. My camera is on the frizz again or I would post pics. See the link below, this is how I'm doing mine. Hers are either 1/4 or 1/2 on the side hexs. I'm thinking 1/4. Very small! Also, if you google hexie insanity on google or pinterest you will find all kinds of inspiration.

wow, awesome quilt. i did my last one 3/4" and it's 55 x 65 and my cat Zoey has it. it didn't match anything in the house and she looked great sitting on it. And she does!!! it's on her throne. I have varied brights so i may do the diamond shape, it looks like jewels, and i collect exotic stones and gems. maybe that's the one for me.
thanks everyone.

Have you seen the one Bonnie Hunter is doing right now? It's gorgeous. This is her second and the other was equally as fabulous.

I am making a 16 patch hexagon and diamond quilt from 1930' fabric.. The "sashing" will be white hexagons. Here is picture of one block.

I have a friend who did one in diamond shapes out of the regular hexies. It was beautiful.
