Default Hipster Bag

Looking to make a hipster bag for the summer. I love the Vera Bradley design, but would prefer to make it myself with maybe Kaffe Fassett fabric. I would quilt the outside of the bag. Does anyone have a cute pattern? I would prefer at least one zipper pocket. Thanks for any help!

Maybe one of these will be to your liking.

Thank you. When you are a quilter many friends ask for items to sew for them. This should help.

Indygo Junction has lots of bag patterns--I have one of theirs that is a cross body bag.

I've heard great things about this pattern designer, although I haven't made any of her bags... yet.

Here is a link for a bag that I have made at least 5 times. The directions are very clear and easy to follow. You can customize what you like...the base size of the bag, strap length (adjustable or not), pockets, etc. I made mine with outdoor fabrics on the outside with cotton lining. It is pretty darned easy and I love the "hands free" style of the messenger bag.

I just winged it and made my own pattern. There are many tutorials on zippers out there if you want to add a side zipper, I did not and MSQ has. Great tutorial on making bags that I wAtched. I think you will have fun making a bag, but you can't make just one, they are addictive.
