I was wondering if anyone knew if the Hobbs 80/20 batting they sold at Michaels was the same stuff/quality as the Hobbs 80/20 sold at the quilt stores? I'm asking because I bought some from Connecting Threads and noticed it was in a different style plastic bag packaging than the Hobbs 80/20 sold at Michaels. I know that some brands make different cheaper versions of their products when selling to chain stores (like Wal-mart) but not sure if this is the case. I can't really tell if the Michaels stuff is the same as the Connecting Threads stuff through the plastic LOL. I'd like to be able to use a half off coupon if it is, which is why I'm asking, instead of having to order it online.

They may be the same quality, but a different loft. The weight of the package may provide some indication, also.

I would ask them to open a package so that you can feel it. The employees at the Michael's here are very accomodating :D:D:D
